Watch ‘Halloween’ animatic pitch from 2012

So, tomorrow is the big day! Blumhouse’sHalloween (2018) trailer will FINALLY be seen by the public. I’m sure I speak for all Halloween/horror fans in that we’ve been waiting for this since that craptastic 2002 Halloween Resurrection. Let’s face it, the only good thing to come from that movie was the screen used Myers mask.

Anyways, if you haven’t already seen it, back in 2012, some folks tried to pitch a Halloween sequel that included a fantastic storyboard animatic. For those unfamiliar with the term, animatic is the process of creating parts of a movie in order using storyboards. James Newton Howard took it a step further and made those storyboards animated with a soundtrack.

One of the reasons I’m bringing this back into the Halloween fan memory base is because I immediately thought of it when I read the official plot synopsis for the new movie. Part of it reads as such…

Halloween, Blumhouse, trailer

“A British documentary crew comes to the States to visit Michael in prison for a retrospective of the maniac’s night of terror but their project becomes way more interesting when Myers escapes custody, retrieves his signature mask and seeks revenge on Laurie, with others naturally being part of his impressive career body count along the way.”

Now, once you watch the animatic, you may see the minor similarities. Obviously this pitch didn’t succeed by its freakin’ rad none the less. Take a look and tell me what you think! Share with your friends and get their opinion too!
